One month in Rovinj
Updated: Jul 28, 2021
Rovinj is a Croatian fishing port on the west coast of the Istrian peninsula. The old town stands on a headland, with houses tightly crowded down to the seafront. A tangle of cobbled streets leads to the hilltop church of St. Euphemia, whose towering steeple dominates the skyline. South of the old town is Lone Bay, one of the area’s pebble beaches.
Dine
The destination place to eat to enjoy the magical sunsets, just book early (eg days in advance or before you even arrive).
A brand new sushi restaurant is such a great find on the outskirts of Rovinj
centre.
A great gourmet burger restaurant, where you get to sit in a beautiful square and people watch.
This wife and husband owned restaurant are serving fabulous fresh seafood with a minimum of fuss in a great central location in Rovinj.
A perfect little cafe serving breakfast till midday (way more our style).
Giannino Restaurant
A beautiful Italian seafood restaurant located in one of the old laneways in Rovinj.
We usually avoid Hotels for breakfast; however, the Hotel Adriatic is very different. They serve an à la carte breakfast up until midday, way more civilised.
Drink
Great cosy cocktail bar, that's away from the crowds, that serves high-quality cocktails.
Our local bar, great for better value cocktails while still getting the Rovinj sunset.
Our other local, a nice small bar that gives you a great view of those famous Rovinj sunsets.
Nice little beach bar serving drinks, a perfect spot to avoid the crowds from the centre of Rovinj while still watching the sunset and listening to cool tunes.
Some days it just gets so hot in Rovinj you want to sit in a cocktail bar with air-conditioning while still enjoying the charming views.
Stay
Our first Airbnb was perfectly located in the heart of the old town and everything is on your doorstep.
We then moved to a breathtaking apartment that belongs to the owners of La Puntulina.
Our final Airbnb has most likely the best value Airbnb in Rovinj.
