In late 2017, Sal Schmidt and Wayne Schmidt decided to take three months of extended leave to celebrate Sal's 40th birthday in Europe.
While sitting at a bar in Frankfurt, Germany, Wayne, then 55, realised that we had fallen into a rut. We were working long, exhausting hours and leading a life centred around consumption.
At the end of our adventure, we returned to Australia, sold and donated all our possessions (leaving only five suitcases at Sally's mum's house), and embraced a slower life filled with travel, minimalism, and living in the moment.
Three weeks later, our journey began: no jobs, just two suitcases, and no plans.
Eight years into our nomadic life.
We have built a lifestyle business, collaborated with some of the most inspiring
individuals, and explored 92 countries.
