  • Herceg Novi

Herceg Novi - Five Nights Herceg Novi is a coastal town in Montenegro located at the entrance to the Bay of Kotor and the foot of Mount Orjen. I really love how they have incorporated sculptures into the old part of the town. Do yourself a favour and avoid the newer area with all the below-average restaurants, instead stick to the old town area. It's not a huge old town, but there are enough nice bars, restaurants, shops and places to sit and enjoy a coffee and people watch. The beach near the old town is a very nice place to relax.

  • Guest house Oreskovic - Plitvice Lakes

Guest house Oreskovic - Two Nights This guest house has nice and modern clean rooms, with a sweet balcony overlooking the forest. Location is ideal as only a short drive (10 mins) to the Plitvice Lakes National Park. It is a little challenging to find, so make sure you're using Google Maps instead of your car navigation. Great spread of breakfast options, a buffet each morning included in your room rate. We took advantage of having dinner in their restaurant, which was excellent food cooked by the owners (a lovely couple), you receive a 3 course meal for 20 euros and a couple of shots of homemade grappa. The owner says the reason for no Corona is due to a daily dose of Grappa:-)

  • Bonaca Restaurant & Lounge Bar - Pula

Bonaca Restaurant & Lounge Bar - Three Visits #Pula #Croatia #Europe Wow, this place ticks off so many boxes. Sunsets Live Music Cocktails Fine Food Ocean Beach Club This is definitely going to be our go-to beach club in Pula. Forget the rest, we've tried them, and they all fall short of this amazing venue. This is such a great value venue; we ordered two bottles of our favourite Croatian sparkling Medea Brut. The staff are amazing, very warm and welcoming. Shout out to Pixie for her first day at Bonaca, and she made our day very special. Each night they have either live music or a DJ on Saturday nights. The set Toni was playing at sunset was a great way to kick back and enjoy those balmy Croatia evenings. We finally ate on our third visit and was not disappointed, great food served with a twist and as always friendly service.

  • Arch of the Sergii - Pula

Arch of the Sergii This is an Ancient Roman triumphal arch located in Pula, Croatia. The arch commemorates three members of the Sergii family, specifically Lucius Sergius Lepidus, a tribune serving in the twenty-ninth legion that participated in the Battle of Actium and disbanded in 27 BC. This suggests an approximate date of construction: 29–27 BC.

  • Valli Delicious - Pula

Valli Delicious - One Visit This is definitely a must-visit restaurant in Pula. Our tip is to go late afternoon, enjoy the cool sea breeze and views while enjoying the dining experience. You know it will be a dining adventure when you are offered four different styles of local olive oils to get with each dish. Going late afternoon allows the team to spend time with you, explaining the food, tasting a variety of wines and giving you insider tips on where to visit in Pula. The menu is small and wonderful, you will not be disappointed, this is not your typical Pula style restaurant. The passion of the team for the food, wine and culture shows through at this restaurant.

  • Pula Arena - Pula

Pula Arena The Arena is the only remaining Roman amphitheatre to have four side towers and with all three Roman architectural orders entirely preserved. It was constructed in 27 BC – 68 AD and is among the world's six largest surviving Roman arenas. A rare example among the 200 surviving Roman amphitheatres, it is also the best-preserved ancient monument in Croatia.

  • Captain Emo City Apartments - Pula

Captain Emo City Apartments - Twelve Nights This fully equipped apartment stands out in a crowded market of offerings in Pula. The apartment is very modern, clean and very stylish. Magical sunsets, a swimming pool, outdoor seating area, and a fully equipped kitchen makes this a rarity in Pula. The apartment is close to the old town centre, shops and all the major scenic attractions. The service is impeccable and you are made to feel very welcome. We booked for three nights in Apartment 6 and ended up staying seven. We would have stayed longer, unfortunately, they were booked out.

  • Knjižara So - Herceg Novi

Knjižara So Not too often, I write a review about a bookshop; this is one special bookshop. It sells books written in English (winning). The gentleman who owns the shop is very welcoming and helped us select some reading material while travelling through beautiful Montenegro.
