We enjoyed a beautiful, stylish apartment in Dar Bouazza for seven nights at Mohamed's place and felt very at home.

The apartment has everything you need, and we cooked a few meals (you may be sure to take a corkscrew if you love a glass of wine).

The location is close to some excellent beach bars and restaurants; it was just a 15-minute walk through the shortcut at the end of the road.

We didn't have a car, so we only explored nearby but found places to enjoy a lovely lunch and sunset drink.

If you are walking, the restaurant staff might be able to organise a ride back home.

Mohamed was a fabulous host, very responsive and loved sharing lots of local hotspots to visit. My husband and I were staying, so we were more inclined to visit the nearby restaurants and beach bars.

We also came across a great place called The Vintage, which looks like an excellent place for summer.

We enjoyed walking to the closest village and buying fresh produce, meat, and groceries, and the local people were lovely.

They found us entertaining, trying to order without speaking much French or Arabic.
