  • Caffe Bar Bolero - Pula

Caffe Bar Bolero - Eight Visits This became our go-to bar in Pula. Perfect for people watching on those warm Croatian nights. It's a beautiful bar, great design and quality seating. The staff are super nice and friendly and the drinks are well priced and always served with a smile. A shout out to Dajana who always made time to come over and talk about life and travelling. They have a DJ that plays every night, and they are always playing some great tunes. Tony the owner always surprises us with a special drink to end the night and has made us feel very welcome each visit.

  • Gradska kavana Arsenal Restaurant - Dubrovnik

Gradska kavana Arsenal Restaurant - One Visit A great spot for breakfast, good food with full breakfast options at a great value. You begin with a selection of croissants and bread, followed by eggs cooked to your choice (we opted for an omelette and fried eggs), accompanied by freshly squeezed orange juice and a cappuccino to kick start your day. It's another perfect location in the heart of the old town to enjoy the incredible architecture of Dubrovnik, and people watch.

  • Gina - Pula

Gina Perfect romantic Italian restaurant, that is a perfect date night location. Max (Maximilian) the son of Gina will take you on a magical food and wine journey. From the moment Max pours you a glass of Medea Brut you know it's going to be a great experience. From the best prosciutto to local wines, olive oil and fresh home-cooked pasta and meats. Everything is locally sourced, fresh and designed to be shared. This restaurant is worth the short drive to visit at least once in your stay in Pula. A sneaky grappa at the end of the evening finished a perfect dining experience.

  • Feeling positive - Day 30

30 days have passed, one whole month indoors with the excitement of the weekly trip to our supermarket. So it's time to remind ourselves of our past 12 months of travel places and that being housebound won't be forever, and our sunset view will change again. Wayne and I have cooked more meals in the past month then we have in the past three years, actually maybe even longer! With the two of us being social bees, how did we cope? We have survived this new lifestyle by focusing heavily on work (sometimes too heavily), we both agreed we had worked harder now than ever before, even wondering how we had the energy for a social life. We have also invested our time helping others get through this challenge and focused on reaching out to people individually to check upon them. Enjoying the spring sunshine in Vienna with many bottles of wine, oh and don't forget the trips to the supermarket. Wayne did get his wish granted for a Lego set, which he duly built over the Easter break. There is a shining light. We are looking forward to spreading our wings again soon with Vienna starting to open back up for business from today slowly. We can now feel and see the shining light on the other side and can't wait to slowly and safely explore the wonders of Austria and support all the businesses get back on their feet. • Helping Others During a Crisis - Day 21 Quarantine

Watching Wayne (my hubby) each day invest his time helping others is truly heartwarming. 💙 His complete selflessness is positively infectious. Each day Wayne spends countless hours on Zoom video calls helping friends or businesses in need to drive and flip their businesses online, helping them remain relevant during this time of crisis and keep afloat to survive. Building websites, social media profile makeovers, strategies to grow and survive financially, and above all else, a friendly chat to keep them in good spirits. They are keeping him busy in addition to his current commitments with his wonderful accounting firm clients. We can all pull together and remember our skills can be transferred to all verticals and industries. Love seeing the diversity of businesses all across the globe. Kudos 👏 to Wayne Giving back, his time and knowledge to keep our friends positive and supporting their businesses. As Wayne says ‘Will you look back in 2021 on your actions in 2020 and be proud?’ I can guarantee Wayne will be, as I am of him.

  • Friendships - Day 19 of Quarantine

The quote we have always lived our life by. Especially since the beginning of our endless journey of incredible experiences. From Bali to Vienna and many places in between. Over two years ago we left Australia on a one-way ticket to explore the world, at the time that is what we thought we would be doing. Still, there was a considerable element of surprise when we explored the world, and the most crucial factor has been the friendships we have developed. Now we start to get emotional and wish we were able to stay longer in all the beautiful places we have been fortunate to spend time — Maldives, Germany, France, Italy, Thailand, Morocco, Tunisia to name a few. Enjoy our first two years of travel memories, looking forward to producing another one to capture even more amazing lifetime friendships. Travelling just the two of us, away from all our friends and family is not always easy. As we miss them incredibly, and the new families we have created and welcomed into has made it so special and helping us to continue our life plan of travel. The list of kind, generous, precious, fun and gorgeous souls in our life is endless, but you all know who you are. We are eternally grateful for every one of you welcoming us into your life as we have become part of your community. You all hold an extraordinary piece of our heart, and we always leave a part behind with you all. Much love always, until next time. We will leave you with our latest reviews from our present Airbnb host, speaks volumes of how special you all are and the opportunity to travel. We can’t wait to hit the road again.
