  • Le Dhow Restaurant Lounge - Rabat

Le Dhow Restaurant Lounge We were looking for a lazy lunch in Rabat, where we could enjoy a lovely bottle of wine, a water view, and great food. Le Dhow ticked off all three and more. The restaurant and bar are set on a boat just near the Medina. The boat is permanently docked in the inlet and offers a beautiful view of the Atlantic. You can watch the waves crashing in and off the Medina. The excellent wine list and food did not disappoint; we skipped the entree to enjoy the slow-cooked lamb for two, which was divine. Being Australian, we are privy to some delicious lamb of the highest quality. We managed to save room for dessert and were happy we did. The cheesecake and apple pie were a treat. The service was exceptional, and Luhcen was very attentive. It's a great spot if you are looking to treat yourself to a nice lunch or dinner in Rabat.

  • Maya Restaurant & Lounge - Rabat

Maya Restaurant & Lounge Visit Maya for a lovely lazy lunch or dinner spot in Rabat with great food and wines. Maya was highly recommended by a local, and it didn't disappoint. The food was delicious, with a great selection of small bites to larger ones. We enjoyed a cheese platter (with a twist, chocolate too) to compliment our champagne, followed by delicious brochettes, which were very tasty indeed. The service was impeccable, and the team was at your beck and call to ensure you were never waiting. The atmosphere and decor are beautiful. The building has a great design and a lovely courtyard where you can bask in the afternoon sun with a bottle of local Moroccan wine. The venue is also great for evenings and is a local hotspot with beers, cocktails, and live music.

The team at Sofitel were terrific, and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting them, especially Mohamed Reda, who had all the time in the world for you and made every customer feel at home. Being a Sofitel, it has a great selection of wine and spirits and extra thoughtful touches to keep your appetite going throughout the evening. Perfect for an afternoon beverage and hide away from the hustle and bustle of the city. During the evening, to be spoilt with cocktails and great entertainment with the live band. • Vogue Restaurant & Bar - Istanbul

Vogue Restaurant & Bar - One visit Let me regale you with our dining experience with Vogue Restaurant & Bar in Istanbul. As we stepped into the realm of culinary delights, we found ourselves in a whirlwind of mixed signals that left us craving more than just a dish to savour. Imagine this: the ambience was set, the air filled with promises of gastronomic adventures, yet the siren call of the phone seemed to outshine our arrival. A melodic ring echoed through the space, and alas, the hostess danced to its tune, leaving us feeling like mere bystanders in a bustling symphony of modern distractions. While the views promised captivating beauty, the service seemed to fail to match the grandeur of the setting. More style than substance, we yearned for a touch of warmth and care from the servers, a connection that goes beyond the surface and delves into the heart of hospitality. And oh, the balcony! A promise unfulfilled as we had to remind the establishment of its allure, a subtle reminder that sometimes the advertised dreams fall short of reality. We had to ask for a table to be dressed on the balcony, which wasn't too much to ask, considering they promote you can dine on the balcony. Amid it all, a warning whispered in the wind: Do yourself a favour and venture onwards to Turk Fatih Tutak or Glens Restaurant for a dining experience of true magnificence. Vogue may dazzle with its views and affiliation with Conde Naste, but don't be fooled. For those seeking the whole culinary experience, it may be best to bid farewell and seek solace elsewhere. So, if you seek to be treated like a respected customer, perhaps Vogue is not the destination for you. Every journey holds its lessons, and in this culinary saga, we learn that even amidst disappointments, brighter horizons are always waiting to be explored. Here's to dining adventures yet to come and to find the true gems in unexpected places!

  • Chez Ichou - Dades Gorges

Chez Ichou Stunning Riad in Dades Valley. Upon arrival, you are mesmerised by your surroundings; the location is instant relaxation. The Riad is new and stylish. The rooms are spacious, the shower and hot water pressure are excellent, and the bed is heaven. You were also treated to beautiful bathroom amenities; the shampoo and shower gel quality was a pleasant surprise after travelling for a few months. Fortunately, we had a balcony view with the sun beaming in, perfect for a cup of tea and a good book. The food was exceptional, we enjoyed Tajines each night, and the morning breakfast spread was everything you could imagine. What's more, you didn't go hungry. It was also a very cosy dining room next to the fireplace. The staff is lovely, and we enjoyed getting to know them all and making them feel very welcome throughout our four-night stay. Hussain was also very responsive and efficient in communicating via English. The staff were lovely, communicating and getting to know them all, and made us feel very welcome throughout our stay of 4 nights. Hussain was also very responsive and efficient in sharing via English. There was also a communal pool with a pool; although the weather in January didn't permit swimming, it would be the perfect chill-out spot in the warmer months. Located in the Dades Valley, you could wander into the nearest villages and take beautiful walks by the creek, nature at its best. We would visit again should we be lucky enough to spend more time in the area.

  • The Place - Marrakech

The Place It's a piece of paradise. Welcome to the most beautiful oasis just outside of Marrakech. Upon entering this incredible Riad, you are transported to a little piece of heaven. Leo will give you a tour of your home for the next few days (we wish we had booked much longer than three nights). The atmosphere at The Place is what we had hoped for; it was so peaceful and relaxing. We were there in the middle of winter, and we were blessed with 20-degree days. We enjoyed the sun by the pool—you could even tan! The sunsets were also incredible on the rooftop, with a beautiful backdrop of the mountains. The food and service are at the next level; we fell in love with the tajines, fresh smoothies and salads, and healthy diet—you feel great after a few days here. It was a pleasant surprise to find out wine was available, too. Our room exceeded our expectations and was much more spacious than we imagined. The bed was huge, with a beautiful, cosy duvet. We loved our stay at The Place and would stay there again; it felt like home, and we loved spending time with Winston, the resident French dog. We were heading to Ait Benhaddou and received a very competitive price from Leo for our following two transfers. It was a very safe trip through the mountains. Thank you to Leo, Jakob, and the team for hosting us at your sensational Riad.

Riad Caravane It was a perfect relaxing getaway. It was everything we had hoped for and more. From check-in to check-out, it was faultless. It was a hidden gem in the Atlas Mountains, a perfect place to unwind and relax. The views were spectacular. Our room was gorgeous and modern, with a great shower and hot water pressure. The bed was heaven. It was so spacious and immaculate. You could easily spend a few days chilling out here and slowing life down. The beautifully designed rooftops offer plenty of areas for all guests. We even enjoyed a game of Scrabble in the sun on the roof with a bottle of wine. We stayed here for five nights and dined at the Riad each day. The breakfast and dinners were delicious. The environment was warm, and you became familiar with all the staff and guests. It was very intimate. The food and a vast range of local dishes were an absolute delight daily. Riad Caravane was a short walk to the nearest village and only 15 minutes to Ksar, an Ancient town and UNESCO site. The staff were exceptional, from check-in and housekeeping to restaurant staff; they always loved chatting, and nothing was too much. A special thank you to everyone at the Riad for the service and exceptional treatment on my birthday; I was surprised by a beautiful homemade cake and local musicians during dinner. We highly recommend Riad Caravane, and you won’t be disappointed!
