  • Ostrea II - Oualidia

Ostrea II It is a very popular seafood restaurant that also caters to steak eaters. You will enjoy the extensive, high-quality wine list and great views. It can get bustling when a tour bus arrives. We ate here twice.

  • Le temps perdu - Oualidia

Le temps perdu We dined here three times. It's the only place to sit outdoors with a glass of wine, savour delicious food, and take a breathtaking view. We highly recommend this restaurant.

  • Café New Day - Oualidia

Café New Day Perfect local cafe. It is the perfect local cafe. We thoroughly loved sitting in the sunshine watching everyone go past. It also had a great breakfast and coffee.

  • Souk/Market - Oualidia

Souk/Market In the coastal town of Oualidia, the vibrant souk beckons visitors with its colourful stalls and aromatic scents. Wandering through the bustling marketplace, I was captivated by the array of handcrafted goods, spices, and friendly vendors eager to share their stories. Immersed in the warmth and hospitality of the locals, I indulged in shopping for unique souvenirs and savoured authentic Moroccan cuisine at a local eatery. As the sun set over the souk, illuminating the bustling marketplace, I felt grateful for the unforgettable experience and the cherished memories made in Oualidia's enchanting souk. I loved seeing the snake charmers entertaining everyone. I love the minor miscommunication that led me to accidentally buy 2 kilograms of biscuits instead of two individual ones.

Hotel L'Initiale - One Visit I loved this place, the food, and the great vibe. Sitting outside enjoying a glass of wine with good food, life is good.

Octopus Oualidia - One Visit There was a great view and pool; however, the food was poor quality and did not serve alcohol.

  • One month in Rovinj

Rovinj is a Croatian fishing port on the west coast of the Istrian peninsula. The old town stands on a headland, with houses tightly crowded to the seafront. A tangle of cobbled streets leads to the hilltop church of St. Euphemia, whose towering steeple dominates the skyline. Lone Bay, one of the area’s pebble beaches, is south of the old town. Dine La Puntulina The destination place to eat to enjoy the magical sunsets, book early (e.g. days in advance or before you even arrive). Tsuki sushi restaurant A brand new sushi restaurant is such a great find on the outskirts of Rovinj centre. Tone It is a tremendous gourmet burger restaurant where you sit in a beautiful square and people-watch. Balbi Restaurant This wife-and-husband-owned restaurant serves fabulous fresh seafood with a minimum of fuss in a great central location in Rovinj. Buffet Trevisol It's a perfect little cafe serving breakfast till midday (way more our style). Giannino Restaurant A beautiful Italian seafood restaurant located in one of the old laneways in Rovinj. Hotel Adriatic We usually avoid Hotels for breakfast; however, the Hotel Adriatic is very different. They serve an à la carte breakfast until midday, which is way more civilised. Drink Mediterraneo Cocktail Bar It is a great, cosy cocktail bar away from the crowds and serves high-quality cocktails. Riviera aperitive bar Our local bar is excellent for better-value cocktails while still getting the Rovinj sunset. Molo Grande Caffe bar Our other local is a nice small bar with a great view of those famous Rovinj sunsets. Vestrum Beach It is a nice little beach bar serving drinks, a perfect spot to avoid the crowds from the centre of Rovinj while still watching the sunset and listening to cool tunes. The Melegran Some days, it just gets so hot in Rovinj that you want to sit in a cocktail bar with air conditioning while still enjoying the charming views. Stay Our first Airbnb was ideally located in the heart of the old town, and everything is on your doorstep. We then moved to a breathtaking apartment that belonged to the owners of La Puntulina . Our final Airbnb is most likely the best-value Airbnb in Rovinj.

  • Beach bar "Come back" - Rovinj

Beach Bar Comeback - One Visit Excellent beach bar only five minutes from the centre of Rovinj. It's raw, so don't expect anything fancy; however, the live music, view and drinks make up for the lack of facilities. Nothing beats listening to live music outside whilst enjoying a drink and the beautiful views of Rovinj.

  • Mulini Beach Bar - Rovinj

Mulini Beach Bar - One Visit It's a great spot to sit and work on your tan while enjoying a nice cocktail. It's not the cheapest, but the quality, location and style are worth the investment. This place does get jam-packed during the summer season.

  • Locanda Blu - Rovinj

Locanda Blu - One Visit The magical views, crystal clear waters, and stunning panorama complemented our dining experience. Somehow, we four Australians found ourselves in Rovinj, Croatia. So that calls for a lazy Friday lunch, and the anticipation was palpable as we stepped into the inviting ambience of Restaurant Blu. There was a limited lunch menu, but the food was not just good; it was delicious, and there was a substantial selection of local wines. I wish we had time to also sample the more extensive dinner menu. The conversations flowed as smoothly as the wine, keeping us engaged and entertained throughout the meal. It was great catching up with Troy and Jamie . A special mention to our waitress, who just made the day even better with her friendly banter.
