Hotel La Roche - Three nights The most incredible experience was staying at La Roche, from every aspect. My husband and I decided to spoil ourselves with a weekend away (from our endless travelling), and we couldn't have chosen a more luxurious boutique hotel. From the time we booked via email with the lovely Dijana to check in and check out and every moment in between during our three-night stay, the team was divine. Everyone is warm, friendly, and fun. The hotel exudes luxury. It is very nicely designed, with spacious rooms and heavenly views from your room over the Bay of Kotor. The rooftop pool has endless vistas and a bar, and if the weather were warmer, we would have enjoyed a cocktail or two. There are ample dining options where you can enjoy being on the waterside with a great bottle of wine, and the food does not disappoint. We wanted to work our way through the menu at 'La Pirogue'; the quality was exceptional. Breakfast was also a treat with a la carte, and all your favourites and more were available, including cappuccinos and fresh juices. A special thank you to Marko and Zoran, who loved sharing all their local tips and knowledge of places to visit and, of course, the wine selections. The location was perfect. It was a short walk to all the hotspots in Tiva, and Porto Montenegro was only a five-minute stroll away. Look no further; you will be impressed as much as we were by the spectacular La Roche Hotel. We look forward to spoiling ourselves for our next weekend away in Tivat.

The Clubhouse - One Visit The Clubhouse came about after we asked our waiter from Gallardo  for the best cocktails in Tivat, we were sent straight to The Clubhouse. We were very impressed by his recommendation, and the cocktails were remarkable. We enjoyed a few negronis during the afternoon. It is a perfect location to enjoy the impressive sunsets, listen to live music, have fun with the friendly staff, and watch people.

Restoran Hotel Astoria - Three visits Great food with a stunning view of the Bay of Kotor (Boka), perfect for a lazy lunch with friends. This establishment has a great wine list with a substantial selection of local wines and cocktails, and the food quality was consistent and inviting. The meat quality was of the highest standard and cooked to perfection. If you are a dessert lover, you want to try everything on the menu. A special thank you to the team, who served us with absolute delight and made expert recommendations; we were never disappointed with our meals or drinks. Perfect for people and superyacht watching, as a constant parade of people passing by (who would have thought I would be writing superyacht watching!).

Gallardo - Three Visits Wow! This is an excellent steak restaurant in a perfect location in the heart of Porto Montenegro, surrounded by luxury shops, yachts, people, and residences. Great quality steaks are served by an enthusiastic and friendly team. We have enjoyed many lazy lunches here with fabulous food and wine. The meat selection is vast, and you can even choose your preferred steak and cut from the daily selections. The wine list is very extensive, with a wide range of French and Italian varieties, especially some very fine reds. We were also pleasantly surprised when we were gifted with their mouthwatering desserts at the end of our meals. A huge thank you to the team. The restaurant decor is stunning, and the high-quality finishings provide a comfortable setting to sit back and enjoy your meal. It is excellent value, and we will visit again before we leave Montenegro. It is the perfect location for watching the world go by and watching the beautiful, fashionable locals of Tivat.

The Chedi Hotel - One Night I've never checked into a hotel with no luggage. However, there is always a first time, and after a fabulous long Sunday lunch at The Spot , Sally and I opted to stay a night at the fabulous five-star Chedi Hotel. Our only regret is not finding this hotel earlier as we would have spent more time here to explore all the facilities. The room was magical, with the most spacious balcony overlooking the beautiful esplanade; the amenities were of the highest quality, and I loved the bathtub. While it might have only been a short stay, we loved the location, facilities, and especially the Chedi team. You could easily spend three or four days in a destination hotel within Lustica Bay.

Its inviting atmosphere is rivalled only by its stunning views—a panoramic vista of sparkling blue waters stretching out into the horizon. The moment we stepped into La Roche, it was clear that this place had mastered the art of ambience. The decor struck the perfect balance between luxury and comfort, with soft, inviting loungers, ambient lighting, and the gentle sound of waves crashing in the background. It felt like we'd entered a serene, beachside haven, secluded from the buzz of the outside world. What truly set La Roche Beach Bar apart was its culinary offerings. The menu was an exquisite blend of local flavours and international cuisines, each prepared with the freshest ingredients from the sea and local farms. Every bite, from the grilled seafood platter to the Montenegrin-style tapas, was a testament to the chef's creativity and skill. No beach bar experience is complete without a signature cocktail, and La Roche did not disappoint. Their mixologist crafted some of our most innovative and refreshing drinks, perfectly complementing the scenic sunset views. And as the evening progressed, the atmosphere became even more vibrant with live music that had everyone on their feet, dancing under the starlit sky. La Roche Beach Bar is more than just a dining destination; it's a place where memories are made. Whether you're a solo traveller seeking tranquillity or a group looking for a lively night out, La Roche caters to all. For Sally and me, it was a highlight of our Montenegrin journey, a place we'd eagerly return to for the ambience, the cuisine, and the unmatched views.

Our favourite bars in Koh Samui. The Social Social is a perfect place to watch the sunset; it has the most spectacular view each evening. You can have a sunset drink in the restaurant. Dragon Fly Great new cocktail bar in Koh Samui, serving quality cocktails in great glassware made by an experienced bar team. Karma Sutra bar & kitchen This is the place to go if you want to enjoy a great cocktail while listening to live music and eating the best cheese platter in Samui. Link Cuisine & Lounge A lovely rooftop bar and restaurant for evening cocktails in Fisherman's Village. Great decor and a gorgeous view of the beach. Emerald Irish Bar Grill The view from this Irish bar is the best I have ever seen. It is ideally located in Fisherman's Village and has a sensational sea view. The drinks are excellent. On Street Bar Look no further if you want an authentic Thai beach bar experience with a fun atmosphere, excellent service, and live music. The Summer House It's a perfect local bar, hidden away.

Its prime beachfront location provides stunning ocean views that enhance the serene ambience. The restaurant has captivated me enough to visit three times, each instance consistently marked by friendly and attentive service. The varied lunch specials keep the menu exciting, complemented perfectly by a well-curated wine list to suit every palate. Beyond the tasty food and the scenic views, the service's warmth and efficiency make each visit memorable. Wine Connection is not just a place to eat; it's an experience combining great flavours, beautiful sights, and genuine hospitality. Whether you're a local or a tourist, this spot in Pattaya is worth visiting for a pleasant and satisfying dining experience.

SINDBAD Resto Lounge Perched on the picturesque coastline of Gammarth, SINDBAD Resto Lounge offers an enticing reason to venture out: its stunning panoramic views. While the establishment is classified as an average restaurant and bar, its idyllic location provides diners with a visual feast that elevates the overall experience. Guests at SINDBAD may find the culinary offerings to be a mixed bag. The food here earns a modest appraisal—pleasant but not particularly noteworthy in a region esteemed for its vibrant culinary traditions. Dishes are served efficiently, yet they lack the inspired flair to turn an average meal into a gastronomic event. The service, while polite, tends to mirror the cuisine: competent but lacking the personalized touch.
